Have a good day today!

I went for a run today (first time in months but not the point) and this elderly man was walking towards me from the opposite direction and not only said "Goodmorning" but that he hopes I have a good day today. No wonder I ran farther than normal without stopping :)

Everyone loves cookies

Well this is an act of kindness I felt proud of doing. I had a box of delicious cookies left over from an event and was walking through a university building at 11 pm and saw a few students sporadically placed at different tables. I went up to one and asked if he would like a cookie and he said "I would love one" and was so happy. It was as if I had actually given him free money or something. So I continued my way around with the other students and gave each a cookie. They were so grateful and confused that this random girl was giving cookies away for free. But it definitely made me feel good and happy that I, with just a cookie, can influence someone's mood and make them smile even if it's for less than a minute. :)

Took the weight off

I saw this girl trying to carry 2 big boxes down the stairs and everyone would just be passing her so I decided to get up from my seat and go help her. I took one of the boxes down the stairs and she thanked me and said that so many people had passed her but no one had bothered to help. I was surprised that no one helped her and I am glad I did.

Wise Words

“To me it seems that to give happiness is a far nobler goal that to attain it: and that what we exist for is much more a matter of relations to others than a matter of individual progress: much more a matter of helping others to heaven than of getting there ourselves.”--Lewis Carroll [Charles Lutwidge Dodgson] (1832-1898)

Spare Change

I was in line to pay for my lunch and the woman in front of me just needed 10 cents to pay for her meal. I had some extra change and gave her the amount she needed. She was really thankful!

Made My Day!

One morning when I was rushing to class a girl I didn't know about 20 feet in front of me held the door open for me and smiled and said "Good Morning!" The simple act of smiling, holding the door, and saying "Good Morning!" just made my day!
